Abstract

The role of strategic human resource management (SHRM) has been validated in achieving organisational performance. Nevertheless, SHRM factors have been rarely studied to investigate organisational resilience and sustainability. Drawing on the task technology fit model, IT infrastructure and strategic human resource factors this study develops an integrative research model to investigate organisational resilience and sustainability during COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to that the moderating effect of employee psychological health is conceptualised between organisational resilience and sustainability. Using convenience sampling approach 320 questionnaires were retrieved for inferential analysis. Results indicate significant impact of employee ability, opportunity enhancing, motivation enhancing, IT infrastructure, technology and task characteristics in measuring organisational resilience with substantial variance R2 78.8%. Practically, this research suggests that during COVID-19 pandemic organisational resilience and sustainably could be achieved through adequate IT infrastructure, task characteristics and employee psychological health.
