Abstract

Using arts in the management and marketing education of business managers is rather a newly researched area. This paper presents a case study of using an ancient Chinese painting, 'Along the River during Ching-Ming Festival', to teach the management and marketing concepts to Taiwanese commercial district managers and also help them to come up with practical but creative strategies for their own businesses as well as to flash back the ancient but long lasting moral in doing business regardless the differentness in era. The participants' own evaluation of the workshop, method and other possible applications of arts in management and marketing education are discussed. Furthermore, this paper can be a reference for planning innovative use of graphical arts in management and marketing teaching.
