Is innovation performance measurement beneficial for performance in services?

Abstract

A wide range of innovation measures has been introduced by researchers in the context of management studies without studying how these measurements benefit a firm's performance. The present study addresses this issue by studying the connection between innovation performance measurement and performance in services. The study was conducted through a web-based survey. 159 responses were received from SMEs operating in the service sector in Finland. Based on the results, innovation performance measurement is positively connected to operational performance in services. No connection was found between innovation performance measurement and financial performance.
