Environmental perceptions and risk: the importance of the outer environment

Abstract

In this work we find a positive relation between environmental perceptions and risk taking. Thus, the more adverse the external situation is, the more enterprising the organisational behaviour will be, the general environment proving of more importance than the task. The demand and socio-economic conditions are of particular influence.
