Abstract

The goal of the article is improvement of methods of calculation of efficiency of use of land with consideration of qualitative characteristics of agricultural lands. Analysing traditional indicators of use of agricultural lands the article reveals that efficiency of use of land is assessed in them without consideration of cost of maintenance of qualitative characteristics of agricultural lands. The existing difference of land quality causes a necessity of objective assessment of economic efficiency of land use. In the result of the study the article offers methods of calculation of efficiency of lands, which identify intensity of land use by means of correlation of the increase of gross product of the agrarian sector with the level of investments into improvement of agricultural lands. Unlike the indicator of land efficiency the above methods allow a more complete reflection of qualitative parameters of agricultural land resources. The offered methods of efficiency of agricultural lands allows determination of the land output per UAH 1 of investments into agricultural lands and also assessment of the increase of the gross product of the agrarian sector for the future. As an example, efficiency of agricultural lands of the Crimea is calculated and dynamics of the indicator for the period of 2005 - 2011 is provided. On the basis of the proposed methods the article conducts forecast calculation of the increase of the gross product of the agrarian sector of the Crimea in 2015 and 2020.
