    La investigación previa sobre las estructuras sociales de científicos ha estado muy ligada al estudio de las cocitaciones y las coautorías y no se ha centrado en el área de Organización de empresas. Este trabajo utiliza una relación social en la comunidad científica, la elección de los tribunales de tesis doctorales, para identificar la estructura social del área de Organización de empresas en España. Los datos muestran la asociación entre centralidad de los doctores en el área y elección de los presidentes y entre elección de los miembros del tribunal y vínculos sociales de los directores de tesis. / Previous scientific research on social structures has usually been linked to Cocitation and Coauthority study. Moreover, it has not focused on Business Organization Area. This paper uses a type of social relationship within the scientific community –the appointment of the PhD thesis examination Boardin order to identify the social structure of Spanish University Business Organization Area. Data show an association between Area’s Phd fellows centrality and the appointment of the presidents, as well as between the appointment of Board members and the social links of thesis directors.
