    La investigación organizativa suele apoyarse en la agrupación de empresas. Sin embargo, los resultados que se han obtenido utilizando métodos de agrupación no son convergentes, lo que ha puesto en duda su utilidad. Nosotros pensamos que parte de los problemas son debidos a inconsistencias metodológicas. Nuestro objetivo es el de clarificar una parte de la confusión existente al respecto. Para ello, definiremos el proceso metodológico de desarrollo de una teoría configurativa basada en la teoría o tipológica, la más problemática, identificando los errores en los que frecuentemente se ha incurrido e ilustrando su aplicación al caso de la cultura corporativa. / Organizational classifications approach is a very useful research method in organizational field. However, the results of the studies are not consistent. This situation argues about its usefulness. We think that many if this problems can be explained by methodological problems. Present paper tries to clarify key characteristics of typology classification method, identifying most recurrent problems of the literature. To fulfill these objectives, we will review organizational culture literature.
