Load Balancing Algorithm: An Analytical Study

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of load balancing algorithm. The performance of load balancing algorithm is studied under various conditions. The objective of load balancing is to increase the performance of parallel and distributed system by distributing the load among the processors. Load balancing is a major factor for achieving high performance; it affects the execution time significantly by expediting it. Load imbalance is a well-known problem in areas involving parallelism. The performance analysis is done using Open MPI and the results are shown graphically.
