Abstract
The article is devoted to revealing the tendency and to substantiate the possibility of expanding the interaction of banking institutions as insurers with insurance companies. The necessity of interaction between banks and insurance companies is substantiated, which is connected with the specifics of the activity of these institutions in the financial market and the prospects of increasing their competitiveness in a changing market environment. The state and directions of development of cooperation of banking institutions with insurance companies of Ukraine in the context of the use of the first insurance products are investigated. The analysis of expenses of the leading domestic banks for insurance and the grouping of banking institutions by the number of concluded insurance contracts is carried out. Covered the most common forms of cooperation and convergence of insurance companies and banks, which include: agency relations and the association of insurers and banks in contractual alliances with a view to the successful advancement of insurance products. The dynamics of the use of insurance services by banking institutions during the period of the financial and economic crisis and after the exit from it is estimated. The reasons that contributed to the activation of bank risk insurance in recent years have been identified. The expediency of using the Bankers Blanket Bond insurance policy, which provides comprehensive insurance protection of the banking institution from a significant list of operational risks, is substantiated.
