Zur Innovation eines wissenschaftlichen Ansatzes : Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung in der Wissenschaftslandschaft und Politikberatung

Abstract

Der Beitrag wurde auf einer wissenschaftlichen Tagung anlässlich des dreißigjährigen Bestehens des Instituts für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung der Bundesanstalt für Arbeit präsentiert. Der Autor beschreibt darin die Entstehungsgeschichte und die Arbeitsweise des IAB, fragt, ob es die an seine Errichtung geknüpften Erwartungen erfüllen konnte, welche Wirkungen das Institut über seinen eigentlichen Aufgabenbereich hinaus hatte und ob eine Institution wie das IAB im Hinblick auf erhebliche Veränderungen während der vergangenen dreißig Jahre in der Forschungslandschaft sowie im Bereich von Politik- und Praxisberatung auch heute noch als aktuell und zukunftsträchtig zu bewerten ist.
