Die Einkommenskarriere von Hochschulabsolventen : ein empirischer Beitrag zur Kontroverse zwischen Humankapitaltheorie und Senioritätsentlohnung

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag wird untersucht, ob das Lebens-Einkommens-Profil von Hochschulabsolventen stärker von Berufserfahrung oder von betrieblichen Senioritätsregelungen beeinflußt wird. Datenbasis ist die "Konstanzer Absolventenbefragung von Verwaltungswissenschaftlern", die im Frühjahr 1992 stattfand und sich auf 18 Absolventenjahrgänge bezieht. Sie erbrachte 476 auswertbare Antworten. Die Ergebnisse bestätigen, daß der Zusammenhang zwischen der Betriebszugehörigkeitsdauer und der Entlohnung häufig überschätzt beobachtet wird, weil infolge von Selektionseffekten die Besserverdienenden länger im Betrieb bleiben. Werden diese Selektionseffekte kontrolliert, so zeigt sich für Hochschulabsolventen eine starke Dominanz von Humankapitaleinflüssen gegenüber Senioritätseinflüssen auf die berufliche Einkommensentwicklung.
