Lebensorientierungen von Hochschulabsolventen

Abstract

"Lebensorientierung sind komplexe Muster von Werten, Einstellungen und Perzeptionen, die sich auf zentrale Lebensbereiche beziehen und verhaltenssteuernd wirken. Anhand von Querschnitt- und Längsschnitterhebungen bei Hochschulabsolventen werden Bedeutung, Verlauf und Verflochtenheit einzelner Lebensorientierungen geprüft. Orientierungen an Bildung und Beruf rangieren an zweiter bzw. dritter Stelle nach der Familie. Ihnen folgen Orientierungen an Besitz und Eigentum, an Freizeit/Sport/Hobby, am politischen Standort, sowie an Vereinen/Verbänden. Im Lebensverlauf nehmen die Orientierungen an Familie/Verwandten, am politischen Standort an Ausbildung und Beruf, an der Nation und an Religion/Weltanschauung an Bedeutung zu, während diejenigen an Freizeit/Sport/Hobby, an Besitz/Eigentum sowie an Vereinen und Verbänden abnehmen. Ab dem 60. bis 63. Lebensjahr - mit Beginn des Ruhestandes - nimmt die Bedeutung aller dieser Orientierungen sprunghaft ab. Orientierungen sind darüber hinaus zu folgenden eigenständigen Grundmustern verflochten: Ausbildungs-, Berufsorientierungen, Traditionsorientierung, Politikorientierung und Freizeitorientierung. Eine Polarisierung zwischen Beruf und Freizeit findet auf der Ebene der Einstellungen nicht in der Stärke statt, wie sie in der Öffentlichkeit diskutiert wird. Viele Verhaltensschattierungen im Verhältnis zwischen Beruf und Freizeit werden tatsächlich praktiziert." (Autorenreferat)
