Abstract

"In Krisenzeiten zeigen sich die negativen Folgen von Arbeitslosigkeit besonders deutlich: Wer kurz vor Beginn der Covid-19-Pandemie seine Arbeit verlor, hatte infolge der Krise deutlich geringere Chancen, einen neuen Job zu finden. Das Risiko, in die Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit zu rutschen, war für die Betroffenen daher deutlich höher als bei vergleichbaren Arbeitslosen wenige Jahre vor Ausbruch der Pandemie. Es gelang zwar vergleichsweise vielen der in der Pandemie langzeitarbeitslos gewordenen Personen schließlich doch, wieder eine Beschäftigung zu finden. Der Anteil der Langzeitarbeitslosen knapp zwei Jahre nach Eintritt der Arbeitslosigkeit war bei ihnen jedoch immer noch mehr als doppelt so hoch wie in der Vergleichsgruppe."
