Abstract

"Die deutsche Wirtschaft befindet sich in einer von Unsicherheiten geprägten Abwartehaltung. Zwar sind aktuell viele exportorientierte Unternehmen über die jüngste Einigung im Zollstreit zwischen den USA und der Europäischen Union erleichtert. Aber die vereinbarten Zölle sind höher als vor Beginn der Konflikte, bei einigen Warengruppen sogar deutlich höher, und die resultierenden dauerhaften Nachteile sind noch nicht vollständig abschätzbar. Auch warten viele kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen ab, in welchem Maße und wann die von der Bundesregierung angekündigten Investitionspakete auch ihre Auftragsbücher erreichen. Nicht zuletzt halten sich die Konsumenten mit ihren Ausgaben weiter stark zurück. So haben sich im Juli die Geschäftserwartungen der Unternehmen kaum weiter aufgehellt. Die Beschäftigung war zuletzt leicht gesunken, der Arbeitsmarkt blieb noch schwach." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
