Abstract

"Städtische Arbeitsmärkte bieten einen besonders guten Zugang zu Jobs, die das Sammeln wertvoller Arbeitserfahrung begünstigen. Dies erklärt zum Großteil, warum die Löhne von Beschäftigten in städtischen Arbeitsmärkten mit zunehmender Arbeitserfahrung schneller steigen als die Löhne von Beschäftigten in ländlichen Räumen. Der positive Effekt städtischer Arbeitserfahrung fällt bei deutschen und ausländischen Arbeitskräften im Durchschnitt ähnlich hoch aus. Geringqualifizierte Ausländer*innen profitieren davon dagegen weniger als ungelernte Deutsche, weil sie in Städten einen schlechteren Zugang zu Jobs mit hohem Lernpotenzial haben."
