Abstract

"Im August 2023 beschloss die italienische Regierung große Einsparungen beim Bürgergeld, dem so genannten „Reddito di Cittadinanza“. Um versprochene Steuersenkungen zu finanzieren, wurden die Zahlungen von 8 auf 5 Milliarden Euro und die Zahl der Empfängerinnen und Empfänger um 40 Prozent reduziert. Die Redaktion des IAB-Forum hat mit den renommierten italienischen Professoren Paolo Barbieri, Marco Leonardi und Michele Raitano darüber gesprochen, wie sie das frühere Programm beurteilen, warum sie nicht erwarten, dass die aktuelle Reform erfolgreich sein wird, und was es braucht, damit das italienische Bürgergeld „funktioniert“."
