Abstract

"Im Januar 2023 soll das Arbeitslosengeld II vom Bürgergeld abgelöst werden. Dies sieht unter anderem höhere Bedarfssätze, verbesserte Zuverdienstmöglichkeiten, längere Schonfristen bei der Unterkunft, eine großzügigere Vermögensanrechnung und finanzielle Anreize für Weiterbildung vor. Die Beurteilungen der Reform in medialen und politischen Debatten sind kontrovers. Auch das IAB bezieht in einem heute erschienenen ausführlichen Bericht Stellung zum Gesetzentwurf der Bundesregierung vom 14. September 2022 (nicht berücksichtigt ist der am 4. November bekannt gewordene Änderungsantrag der Bundesregierung). Die Redaktion des IAB-Forums hat bei Kerstin Bruckmeier und Ulrich Walwei, die an der Stellungnahme beteiligt waren, nachgehakt."
