Abstract

"Das Bruttoinlandsprodukt legte im Schlussquartal 2020, preis-, saison- und kalenderbereinigt, lediglich um 0,3 Prozent gegenüber einem immens starken dritten Quartal zu. Im ersten Quartal 2021 dürfte es nun einen Dämpfer gegeben haben. Angesichts der Infektionsdynamik ist ein noch längerer Lockdown zu erwarten. In vielen Bundesländern greift die sogenannte Notbremse, die Öffnung bestimmter Dienstleistungsbranchen und Teile des Einzelhandels wird dadurch weiter verzögert. Lediglich die Industriekonjunktur zog weiter an. Der Arbeitsmarkt zeigte sich bislang relativ robust, die Arbeitslosigkeit sank im März wieder etwas. Insgesamt verbreitet sich durch die Aussicht auf eine breitere Verfügbarkeit der Impfstoffe und eine effektivere Teststrategie mit Blick auf das zweite Quartal Konjunkturoptimismus: Im März stieg der Geschäftsklimaindex erneut merklich. Auch das IAB-Arbeitsmarktbarometer verbesserte sich erneut." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
