Abstract

"Die Covid-19-Pandemie hinterließ 2020 starke Spuren in der deutschen Wirtschaft: Das Bruttoinlandsprodukt schrumpfte im vergangenen Jahr preis- und kalenderbereinigt um 5,3 Prozent. Im ersten Halbjahr ging die Wirtschaftsleistung massiv zurück. Im Sommer gab es eine kräftige Gegenbewegung, die aber seit Herbst durch einen starken Anstieg der Infektionszahlen und die damit einhergehenden Eindämmungsmaßnahmen gestoppt wurde. Der aktuelle Lockdown führt pro Woche zu Verlusten von 0,4 Prozent der in einem Quartal erbrachten Wirtschaftsleistung. Die Wirkungen sind aber deutlich begrenzter als im ersten Lockdown. Angesichts der weltweit angelaufenen Impfungen dürfte die Wirtschaftsleistung im Anschluss wieder kräftig anziehen. Auch wenn sich der Arbeitsmarkt bisher relativ robust zeigt, beeinträchtigt die weltweite zweite Corona-Welle aktuell auch hier die Erholung." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
