Abstract

"Fast acht Prozent aller erwerbsfähigen Personen in Deutschland beziehen Hartz-IV-Leistungen. Entweder weil sie keinen Job finden oder weil sie trotz Arbeit nicht genug verdienen, um sich und ihre Familie ernähren zu können. Bei der zweiten Gruppe handelt es sich um sogenannte Aufstocker, die ihr Einkommen um zusätzliche Hilfeleistungen ergänzen müssen. Neben finanziellen Einschränkungen kann der Hartz-IV-Bezug auch mit einer Reihe weiterer Probleme verbunden sein, wie der Blick auf den Gesundheitszustand von Leistungsbeziehern belegt. Mithilfe der Befragung 'Lebensqualität und soziale Sicherung' lässt sich untersuchen, inwiefern sich der Gesundheitszustand von Erwerbstätigen, die keine zusätzlichen Leistungen beziehen, Aufstockern und Arbeitslosen unterscheidet."
