Abstract

While parts of the economy are complaining of a shortage of skilled staff and personnel, the number of long-term clients registered at the Job Centres who have hardly any chance of succeeding on the labour market on their own because of diverse barriers to placement is stagnating. By way of the intensive counselling of the long-term unemployed and employers, the national ESF programme intends to contribute to reducing long-term unemployment - thus benefitting both sides.
