Abstract

"Über sechs Millionen Menschen in Deutschland beziehen Leistungen der Grundsicherung für Arbeitsuchende. Dies entspricht 9,5 Prozent der Bevölkerung unter 65 Jahren. Das Risiko, bedürftig zu werden, ist jedoch nicht für jede Personengruppe gleich groß. Bei Arbeitslosen ist zwar die Wahrscheinlichkeit, Leistungen zu beziehen, am größten. Gerade das Zusammenwirken zwischen dem individuellen Erwerbsstatus und dem Haushaltskontext spielt eine wichtige Rolle. So verdienen selbst vollzeiterwerbstätige Männer mit Realschulabschluss oder Abitur nicht immer genug, um den Unterhalt für eine vierköpfige Familie bestreiten zu können, und sind daher auf ergänzende Leistungen der Grundsicherung angewiesen."
