Abstract

"Der Bedarf an Fachkräften in den Feldern Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik steigt. Die Beschäftigung in diesen sogenannten MINT-Berufen wächst überdurchschnittlich; die Arbeitslosigkeit ist niedrig. Rasant gestiegen ist auch die Zahl der Studienanfänger beiderlei Geschlechts. Gleichwohl beginnen Frauen deutlich seltener ein MINT-Studium als Männer und konzentrieren sich häufiger auf den mathematisch-naturwissenschaftlichen Bereich. Die meisten MINT-Berufe dürften auf absehbare Zeit Männerdomänen bleiben, da es für Frauen nach wie vor strukturelle Barrieren gibt." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
