Abstract

"Die Wirtschaft wächst in diesem Jahr im Westen Deutschlands zwar stärker als im Osten. Dennoch ist die infolge der letzten Wirtschafts- und Finanzkrise gestiegene Arbeitslosigkeit noch nicht in allen strukturstarken Regionen Westdeutschlands wieder auf das Vorkrisenniveau gesunken. Zugleich haben viele ostdeutsche Regionen mit traditionell hoher Arbeitslosigkeit gegenüber den alten Bundesländern aufgeholt. Die Arbeitslosenquoten im Osten Deutschlands sind vielfach deutlich niedriger als vor der Krise." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
