Aufschwung am Arbeitsmarkt: Die Entwicklungsmuster wandeln sich

Abstract

Der Beitrag vergleicht die Konjunkturaufschwünge der Jahre 1999/2000 und 2006/2007 und zeigt, dass bei ähnlichem Wirtschaftswachstum die jeweiligen Entwicklungen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt sehr unterschiedlich verliefen. Während in den Jahren 1999/2000 fast ausschließlich zusätzliche Teilzeitjobs entstanden sind, wurden 2006/2007 in beachtlicher Zahl Vollzeitjobs geschaffen, während die Teilzeitbeschäftigung nur halb so kräftig zunahm wie 1999/2000. Der Beitrag gibt einen vergleichenden Überblick über die Entwicklungen am Arbeitsmarkt in West- und Ostdeutschland hinsichtlich Beschäftigung, Arbeitsangebot und Arbeitslosigkeit sowie Arbeitsmarktpolitik. Die Autoren führen die im Vergleich zu 1999/2000 positive Entwicklung u. a. auf die Veränderungen der institutionellen Bedingungen und arbeitsmarktpolitischen Orientierungen durch die Arbeitsmarktreformen der vergangenen Jahre zurück.
