Abstract

Untersucht wird die Bildungsbeteiligung von Migrantinnen und Migranten auf der Basis statistischer Daten (Anteil ausländischer Schüler in allgemein bildenden Schulen, ausländische Schulabgänger nach Art des Schulabschlusses, Ausbildungsquoten, Verteilung auf Ausbildungsberufe, Anzahl der ausländischen Studenten). Dabei wird deutlich, dass die Integration von Einwanderern in das Bildungssystem auch in der zweiten und dritten Generation zu wünschen übrig lässt. Die geringe Bildungsbeteiligung führt auch dazu, dass Migranten ein höheres Risiko tragen, arbeitslos zu werden. Angesichts des demografischen Wandels und des Rückgangs des Erwerbspersonenpotentials ist eine stärkere Integration notwendig. Derzeit wirkt das Bildungssystem selektiv und vernachlässigt Kinder mit Migrationshintergrund. Bei der Integration ist insbesondere der vorschulische Bereich von zentraler Bedeutung, da hier die Grundlagen für den späteren Verlauf im Bildungssystem und auf dem Arbeitsmarkt gelegt werden.
