Abstract

Dieser Artikel erläutert die Rolle des IWF in der ostasiatischen Wirtschaftskrise der 90er Jahre. Die qualitativ-historische Herangehensweise ermöglicht eine explorative Rückschau. Wirtschaftliche, innenpolitische, soziale und außenpolitische Auswirkungen werden dargestellt. Der Einfluss des IWF in monetären, finanziellen und administrativen Aspekten wird für verschiedene Politikbereiche analysiert. Streitfragen lassen sich ableiten und die vielfältige Verpflichtungen der unterschiedlichen Akteure werden diskutiert.
