Eine Kulturökologische Herangehensweise An Die Regionalspezifische Siedlungsforschung: Der Bereich Lehmarchitektur

Abstract

Der Lehm findet eine breite Anwendung beim Profan- und sakralen Bau insbesondere in Regionen, die knapp an anderen Bauressourcen sind (z.B. in gewissen Gebieten Afrikas). Er ist das älteste und vergänglichste Baumaterial merklicher historischer und sozialer Relevanz (z.B. Moscheen). Regelmäßigkeiten zu der Nutzung und den Entstehungsbedingungen der Lehmgebäude waren bspw. die erwünschte Dichte der Stadtbaustruktur, die Komplexität der Raumordnung, der Schutz vor dem Klima, Religion- und Verteidigungsbedürfnisse und die Ästhetik.Potentiell stellt die Lehmarchitektur einen herausfordernden Gegenstand für regionalwissenschaftliche Grundlageforschung aber auch ein Feld angewandten Wissens für Umweltbildung dar.
