Abstract

En 1988, al ser electo como presidente de la República Mexicana como término de elecciones debatidas en las que, por primera vez en la historia de esta nación, los electores opositores hicieron correr el riesgo al candidato del partido hegemónico de perder la carrera a la jefatura del ejecutivo, Carlos Salinas de Gortari emprendió una larga serie de reformas del Estado con el objetivo de seguir la promoción de la política neoliberal y facilitar la tecnocracia emprendida con su predecesor, Miguel de la Madrid (1982-1988).
