I+D como factor productivo en la econom a espa ola: un an lisis emp rico regional y sectorial

Abstract

En los ltimos a os se asiste a un notable consenso internacional acerca de la relevancia de la inversi n en nuevas tecnolog as y en actividades de innovaci n como medio para fomentar el crecimiento de largo plazo de la econom a. Este art culo tiene como principal objetivo contrastar cuantitativamente la aportaci n de la I+D a la actividad productiva en Espa a en las dos ltimas d cadas. Ello se aborda desde una doble perspectiva, al contrastar la contribuci n del capital tecnol gico medido como el stock de I+D a la producci n desagregada por CC.AA. y por sectores productivos de la econom a privada no agraria, diferenciando stos en funci n de su intensidad tecnol gica. Adem s, se eval a la presencia de externalidades positivas derivadas de la inversi n en I+D realizada fuera de la propia regi n o del sector.
