Abstract

En este art culo se analiza, por medio de gr ficos sobre la base del Indice de Especializaci n, el modelo de especializaci n industrial seguido por los nueve socios miembros de la UE contemplados entre los a os 1980 y 1995, observ ndose que para el nivel de desagregaci n industrial de 13 ramas, los cambios en estos modelos han sido, en general, estables y duraderos, presentando alguno de estos pa ses ciertas modificaciones que no son muy significativas en el per odo analizado. Los pa ses del sur de Europa (Espa a, junto con Portugal e Italia) mantienen o refuerzan su especializaci n en industrias tradicionales, mientras que los pa ses m s poblados, salvo Italia (Alemania, Francia y Reino Unido) se especializan, en general, en industrias avanzadas e intermedias. Al comparar la especializaci n industrial de Espa a con la de cada uno de los ocho socios miembros, se puede ver en qu sectores se especializa sta y en cu les no con relaci n al pa s que se compara.
