Nogle betragtninger over fremskridt i økonomisk teori i det 20. århundrede

Abstract

: The concept of progress in economics is analysed in relation to the way in which the term »economic science« has replaced »economics« and »political economy«. It is argued that a naturalist paradigm may not always be adequate in economics. Classic questions concerning the relationship between freedom and order are still at the heart of economics. In the 20th century, game theory has given economics a new method of analysis; it is further argued that Arrowís impossibility theorem may perhaps eventually be judged to be the most important economic contribution of the century to the theory of democracy.
