Abstract

The study uses hedonic pricing to analyse the willingness of house owners to pay for woodland amenities in five forested areas, The results clearly indicate significant values for forested areas. House prices decline by 0.04% for every 1% increase in the distance to a wood. Implicit house prices for locations 100 to 500 m from a forested area are estimated, showing major differences in forestation areas the price of an average house increased by 27% from the period before the tree planting to the period after forestation was completed.
