Abstract

Research in the history of economic thought is dominated by the international pioneers such as Adam Smith, Walras and Keynes; many of these pioneers were unknown in their own lifetime. Research in economic history takes the opposite ap - proach; the political decision-makers and the average economic agent known from the aggregated macroeconomic statistics are playing the main role. To build a bridge between the history of economic thought and economic history one has to consider the ordinary professors without seminal contributions, but considered as authorities in their own time. One of these professors was Carl Thomsen, Professor in Agricultural Economics at the Royal Agricultural University 1968-1989.
