Abstract

Gilliland responds to an article by Jeff Baker in the same issue of Foresight, Maximizing Forecast Value Added through Machine Learning and "Nudges." He considers the roles ML can play with topics such as Saving Resources / Improving FVA, Dispersion-Scaled Override, and A "Nudge" from Behavioral Economics, concluding with the challenges ML presents for forecasters.
