Culture profesionnelle versus practices journalistiques dans la presse roumaine

Abstract

Le journalisme, comme tout autre profession a développé un ensemble de représentations qui ont comme objet son activité spécifique. À l’aide de ces représentations, les journalistes peuvent se légitimer sur le plan social en montrant une certaine mission et un ensemble de normes qui font appel aux procédures professionnelles et aux normes éthiques. Les journalistes peuvent modéliser l’image publique sur les représentations d’une profession et plus encore, ils peuvent imposer au public les représentations sur le journalisme qui sont en consensus avec leur idéologie occupationnelle. Pour comprendre comment les journalistes essayent de modéliser à l’intérieur de la rédaction et pour le grand public, les représentations sur la profession, j’ai étudié 340 articles sur l’épidémie de grippe publiés entre le 1er août et le 1er novembre 2009 dans 5 quotidiens de Roumanie. Resultat : en essayant d’imposer au public les représentations qui soutiennent leur idéologie occupationnelle, les journalistes tombent dans leur propre piège et commencent à modéliser et à imposer des représentations à l’intérieur de la rédaction. Des événements comme la grippe renforcent la cohésion des membres de l’organisation autour des principaux repères de la culture professionnelle. Celle-ci privilégie les normes et les valeurs de la profession en dépit de la réalité et des faits.
