Effects of Technology Development Zone Companies on the Selected Indicators: The Case of Ankara Province

Abstract

In order to measure the effects of technology development zones, it is necessary to first observe the changes they create on the companies operating in these zones. In this context, the aim of the study is; To prove the relationship between the contribution of companies operating in technology development zones to exports, employment, new product development, production efficiency and recycling and technology development zones. The data obtained as a result of the online survey applied to 442 companies in the technology development zone in Ankara was analyzed using IBM SPSS 25 and AMOS 24.0 programs. The data were examined with exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). According to exploratory factor analysis, the scale shows 21 items and a 5-factor structure. The total variance explained by the scale was 58.8% and the Cronbach α internal consistency coefficient was calculated as 0.812. Chi-square fit test, RMSEA, GFI and CFI fit indices were used to test confirmatory factor analysis for the suitability of factor structures. Values obtained from fit indices; It was calculated as 2.200 for the chi-square fit test, 0.052 for RMSEA, 0.925 for GFI, and 0.925 for CFI. All factors were found to be statistically significant and the model obtained as a result of the fit indices was revealed to have a good fit. Then, ANOVA test was applied to the data. It was determined that there was a significant difference between the increase in the number of new products offered by companies operating in technology development zones and the companies' contribution to exports.
