Decomposição do Índice de Gini rural brasileiro (2016 -2019): o papel do Programa Bolsa Família na concentração e privação da renda

Abstract

Entre 2016 e 2019, apesar do aumento da renda per capita rural no Brasil, a pobreza cresceu devido ao aumento da concentração de renda, interrompendo uma trajetória anterior de queda. A análise de dados em painel indica que a pobreza é mais sensível às variações na desigualdade do que às variações na renda. O Programa Bolsa Família ajudou a mitigar essa elevação da pobreza, beneficiando diretamente as famílias pobres e direcionando transferências à base da distribuição de renda. Embora sua participação na renda rural seja relativamente pequena, o programa foi a fonte de renda mais eficiente na redução da desigualdade.
