Uma nota sobre homicídios e a entrada de armas legais nas regiões brasileiras

Abstract

O artigo tem por objetivo principal analisar a relação entre os homicídios por armas de fogo e sua ligação com a posse de armas de fogo legais nas cinco regiões brasileiras. Para isso, utilizou-se da metodologia de dados em painel com estimação por efeitos fixos e system-GMM. Os resultados mostraram que homicídios têm relação direta com armas legais. Porém, nas Regiões Sul e Nordeste observa-se uma relação inversa, ou seja, na Região Sul o aumento de arma legal não representou um aumento de homicídios e na região nordeste o aumento de homicídios não está relacionado a aquisição de armas legais.
