Abstract

Este artigo contribui para a análise da produção intelectual de Octávio Gouvêa de Bulhões. A literatura especializada sustenta que o autor foi um dos líderes intelectuais do pensamento econômico neoliberal no Brasil. Esta classificação, ainda que possa contribuir no desenho de quadros mais gerais, úteis para estudos introdutórios, está longe de encerrar a discussão. Este artigo fornece uma compreensão mais detalhada e acurada de seu pensamento. Para tanto, analisam-se todos os artigos publicados por Bulhões na Revista Brasileira de Economia entre os anos de 1947 e 1986. Os resultados da pesquisa permitem concluir que a contribuição intelectual de Bulhões extrapola os limites impostos por sua classificação como um neoliberal.
