O Efeito do Mercosul sobre a Comercialização de Novos Produtos

Abstract

Este artigo utiliza um banco de dados com elevado nível de desagregaçãocom intuito de mensurar o impacto do MERCOSUL sobre a criação de novasrelações comerciais. Para tanto, será utilizada a definição de margem extensiva decomércio contida em Baldwin e Di Nino (2008), qual seja: o número de produtosque não pertenciam a pauta de exportação antes da assinatura do acordo bilateral.Os resultados indicam que o MERCOSUL possui um impacto positivo sobre aprobabilidade de uma nova categoria de produtos ser comercializada (em tornode 1,87%). Observou-se também que Paraguai e Uruguai foram os países maisbeneficidados com o acordo.
