Abstract

The author reviews the monograph by Victor Blanuts ‘Deployment of the ITC network as a geographical process (on the example of formation of Siberian mail’s network structure)’. The researcher notes significant contribution of the reviewed work in the development of spatial analysis methods. To develop methods of network spatial analysis V.I. Blanuts selected ITC arcnode structures as transport and communication are the most geographically distinct network structures and information networks are also the least geographically studied. Blanuts selected postal arc-node structure as it’s the chronologically first of the five main types of ITC networks. So there are long continuous time series data for studying long-term processes. V.I. Blanuts dedicated each of the monograph’s six chapters to the most original approaches, algorithms and conclusions of studying the process of arc-node structure’s deployment. The reviewer also provides some suggestions to improve the monograph.
