Abstract

The article considers the problems of long-term agricultural development and prospects of scientifictechnical and technological modernization. The author justifies two versions of the perspective agricultural development and opportunities for the local food self-sufficiency. If the agricultural complex will grow sluggishly the regional food self-sufficiency can only reach the level of 1990. But in the case of the agricultural complex modernization and innovation the local food self-sufficiency can significantly exceed the level of scientifically grounded norms of consumption by 2050 (in the case of about 8 million people population)
