Japan-Russia Economic Cooperation: Business Outlook in Far Eastern Russia

Abstract

An assessment is given of Russia’s position in terms of prospects for placing Japanese enterprises. The following trends are examined in trade relations between Japan and Russia: the dynamics, structure and direction of trade flows and their distribution between the ports of the Sea of Japan and the Pacific coast. The dynamics of trade is shown by the dominant commodity groups: automobiles and timber. Possible scenarios are indicated for the development of trade relations between the countries
