La concentrazione geografica dell?industria in Italia: 1971-2001

Abstract

Questo lavoro propone un?analisi della distribuzione spaziale dell?industria in Italia basata sul numero di addetti alle unit? locali insediate nei Sistemi Locali del Lavoro, rilevati dai Censimenti dal 1971 al 2001, e su una metodologia di analisi statistica (Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis), che integra misure di concentrazione e dipendenza spaziale con tecniche non parametriche di stima della densit?. Per l?aggregato manifatturiero, i risultati suggeriscono il passaggio da un modello di tipo gerarchico, centrato tra Piemonte e Lombardia, ad uno pi? complesso, di tipo policentrico, caratterizzato da processi di diffusione per contagio. L?analisi estesa a livello settoriale mostra inoltre una notevole eterogeneit? di comportamento dei diversi comparti industriali.
