Lavoro, prestazioni e processi di esternalizzazione: inquadramento storico-concettuale e ragioni strategicoorganizzative

Abstract

Questo articolo offre un?analisi approfondita del fenomeno dell?esternalizza-zione (outsourcing), definendolo come una tecnica organizzativa strategica attraverso la quale funzioni aziendali interne vengono assegnate contrattualmente a fornitori terzi. Ne traccia l?evoluzione storica dalle sue origini nei Paesi di Common Law alla sua ampia adozione da parte delle aziende giapponesi dopo la crisi degli anni ?80, spinta dalla complessit? del mercato e dagli avanzamenti tecnologici. Il testo esamina le ragioni strategiche e organizzative alla base delle decisioni di outsourcing, distinguendo tra attivit? core e non-core e identificando dimensioni chiave come la criticit? strategica, l?esposizione al rischio, la rilevanza nella creazione di valore e l?impiego di risorse. Vengono evidenziate le attivit? pi? frequentemente esternalizzate, in particolare nelle istituzioni finanziarie (es. sistemi IT, gestione dati, contabilit?), ed esplorate le motivazioni principali, inclusa la riduzione dei costi, il vantaggio competitivo, l?accesso a conoscenze specialistiche e una maggiore focalizzazione sul core business. Infine, l?articolo classifica le diverse modalit? di outsourcing (tradizionale, tattico, di soluzione, strategico) basandosi sulla complessit? gestionale e sulla vicinanza al core business, insieme a varie tipologie come il Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), il Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), l?out-tasking, l?offshoring e l?ownership, sottolineando il ruolo dell?outsourcing come strumento versatile per la competitivit? e la flessibilit? aziendale in un ambiente di mercato dinamico.
