Ricerca e sperimentazione clinica: il caso dell?Ospedale San Carlo di Potenza

Abstract

L?articolo esamina il caso dell?Ospedale San Carlo di Potenza, principale struttura sanitaria della Regione Basilicata, con particolare riferimento all?impegno nella ricerca e sperimentazione clinica nel triennio 2022-2024. L?Azienda si distingue per la collaborazione interdisciplinare, l?attenzione ai pazienti fragili attraverso programmi di uso compassionevole (EAP) e la partecipazione a studi nazionali e internazionali, prevalentemente promossi da enti non profit. Tuttavia, l?assenza di un Trial Office centralizzato e di infrastrutture dedicate limita l?efficienza e la visibilit? della ricerca, basata ancora su iniziative individuali. La Direzione generale intende potenziare l?organizzazione con strutture dedicate, integrare la ricerca nella mission aziendale e sviluppare una rete oncologica territoriale per migliorare l?accesso alle terapie e il reclutamento dei pazienti. La trasformazione richiede un cambiamento culturale e gestionale per consolidare il ruolo dell?Ospedale nel panorama scientifico nazionale.
