Ricerca e sperimentazione clinica: l?esperienza della Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta

Abstract

La Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta rappresenta un centro di eccellenza nazionale e internazionale per le neuroscienze. L?Istituto integra attivit? clinico-assistenziale e di ricerca scientifica avanzata nel campo delle patologie neurologiche lungo quattro principali linee di ricerca: neurologia sperimentale preclinica, patogenesi delle malattie neurologiche e medicina di precisione, sperimentazione clinica in neurologia e neurochirurgia, e outcome research. Nel 2024, l?Istituto ha registrato circa 5.100 ricoveri e oltre 50.000 visite ambulatoriali, con un?importante attivit? neurochirurgica (2.500 interventi annui). Attualmente sono attivi 246 studi clinici, con 4.138 pazienti arruolati nel 2024, suddivisi tra sperimentazioni profit e non profit. Le collaborazioni con aziende farmaceutiche, enti di ricerca e finanziatori pubblici consentono di attrarre risorse che vengono reinvestite in personale, attrezzature e formazione. La classifica World?s Best Specialized Hospitals 2025 posiziona il Besta al primo posto in Italia e tra i primi al mondo come Centro Specialistico per le Neuroscienze, confermando il suo ruolo strategico nel panorama nazionale e internazionale. Tale legacy rende ancora pi? ambiziose le sfide organizzative, gestionali e strutturali che l?Istituto si trova ad affrontare.
