    Note: [English Title] THE METHODS USED FOR THE ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL GOODS AND POLLUTION DAMAGES AND THEIR APPLlCABILITY IN TURKEY [English Abstract] In this study, the valuation techniques which are used to assess the environmental goods and pollution damages. Market-based methods (such as, change-in-productivity, preventive/defensive expenditures, replacement costs, opportunity cost or shadow project, labour wages and income loss approaches, hedonic price function travel cost method contingent valuation approach, Delphi technique), production cost approach, income capitalization technique social benefit/cost analysis, dose-response (production) and demand function approaches, environmental matrices are generally used to evaluate the environmental pollution damages. Experts may use especially market-based methods, production cost approach, income capitalization technique. dose-response and demand functions in Turkey for the economic assessment of environmental goods and pollution damages. Other methods which are examined in this study are useful for preparing environmental impact statement of economic activities. The results which are determined by these techniques, can include various subjective valuation. They are satisfactorily consistent according to the aims of usage. For providing reliable results, theoretical and methodological basis must be achieved by further scientific researches. [English Keywords] Not available
