Note: [English Title] Not available [English Abstract] Energy is one of the important inputs for economic and social development. By this way it plays a crucial role for increasing the living standard of society and sustainable development. Energy also provides the improvement. However because fossil fuel such as petroleum, natural gas, coal which are the most important, energy resources are quickly being used up and they have been causing environmental problems, same concepts such as energy intensity and energy productivity have come out. In order to provide the efficient use of energy many different programmes have been being practiced. In this paper, the meaning of energy intensity and energy intensity experiences in Turkey and world are examined. In addition to this, the amount of the use of energy per person, and it s intensity are searched for some countries in which energy is used efficiently and productively. With the help of this information the position of Turkey in the world was determined. Also energy intensity is calculated for different size companies in the Turkish Manufacturing Industry. Also in this paper, some studies related to energy saving in Turkey are examined. [English Keywords] Not available
